Arbitrum and Polygon are leading
- Arbitrum has the highest average swap size of all 6 chains, a whopping $2.5k and second most traders (1.9M) also second most swaps
- Polygon is second when it comes to average swap size, but has the most traders (2.5M) as well as the most swaps.
- On polygon most trades are in $10-$100 category, however on Arbitrum it's the $1,000-$10,000 category that has the most trades. On optimism, base and bsc the most swaps are <$10, on Avalanche it's $100-$500.
To sum it up: Arbitrum users usually make the biggest swaps of all chains and Polygon users are most active.

Since Uniswap launched on Polygon and Optimism, the activity on these 2 chains has been moving closely together with Polygon leading on most days.
The activity on Arbitrum has been slowly increasing and in March 2023 it overtook the activity on all the other L2s and has been one of the most active on most days since. The reason for this increased activity on Arbitrum is most likely the Arbitrum's airdrop of ARB token which happened on March 23, 2023.
The activity on bsc, avalanche and base is significantly lower.
Transaction fees
Tokens
Swaps on Polygon had consistently the lowest average transaction fee. (~$0.14)
The second lowest average tx fee is on BSC - ~$0.28, which is 2x as much as on Polygon. Arbitrum has similar average tx fee.
Avalanche, Base and Optimism all have average transaction fee of ~$0.4

Embark on a voyage through Uniswap's transformative journey as it extends its influence beyond Ethereum's mainnet to various Layer 2 (L2) blockchain networks. Five years since the launch of its V1 contract on the Ethereum mainnet, Uniswap has emerged as a pioneering force, continually innovating and expanding its presence.
In this dashboard we'll analyze the differences in activity on Uniswap between Layer 2 blockchains - we'll have a look at what blockchains are the most active on Uniswap, how much and how often they trade, gas fees, the tokens users trade the most and more.
The low transaction fees on polygon definitely do contribute to the higher activity on this network.
Interestingly, Optimism, despite having the highest average transaction fees is third most active.
On all analyzed Layer 2 blockchains, mostly the ecosystem's tokens and stablecoins are in the TOP 5 traded.
ETH (in some form) is in TOP 5 traded tokens on all blockchains except for Base - Base also has some specific tokens that are not in TOP5 on any other blockchain (SOFI, TOSHI)
Number of token pools created has been higher on every month in 2023 than in 2022. The highest spikes were on Arbitrum in May 2023 and on Base in August 2023, when Base blockchain has launched.
