Think of Polygon as an express train. It is on the same track as all other trains but moves faster and makes fewer stops along the way. In this example, the track is Ethereum, where Polygon does a quicker job of fulfilling transactions than the Ethereum blockchain. Polygon is also the name of the native cryptocurrency used on the Polygon network. The coins trade under the MATIC ticker.

The platform uses a proof-of-stake, or POS, consensus to secure the network and create new currency. Polygon has a market cap of $3.386 billion, and there are 8 billion polygon coins in circulating supply.

Count and plot the number of daily transactions and unique addresses on Polygon, beginning July 1, 2022.

Methodology:

To answer the bounty questions, we look at:

1. Number of daily transactions on polygon

2. Number of daily Unique users on polygon

3. daily transaction volume on Polygon

   we check the above metrics since beginning of July 2022

   To answer the second part of the question (In your estimation, discuss whether Polygon is still growing, has reached a plateau, etc. ) we see the Number of transactions and also the number of unique users on polygon in the past dates and compare them to this time

   Note:

   To find the above metrics we use from [ polygon.core ] schema and [ transactions ] table

the Below chart show the Number of daily transactions on polygon and we can see that the number of daily transactions don’t have so much difference with it’s before and after and we can say that number of daily transaction on polygon since beginning of January till now is in a plateau.

The below chart shows us the Daily transaction volume on Polygon, which we see we have an spike in the transaction volume in 4 July, that the transaction volume reached to more than 120M MATIC in this day.

to estimate better if the polygon is still growing or has reached a plateau, we see the above metrics in more period of time.

Note: the polygon data in flipside just have data after the 6 June 2022

The below chart shows the Number of daily transaction on polygon, from 6 June to 13 June we were in a upward trend and after a high in daily transaction volume in 13 June we are in a downward trend

The below chart shows the Number of daily unique users on polygon, which we can’t see anything special and we can say that the number of daily unique are the same most of day and just we have an spike on it in 27 June 2022 which the number of daily unique users on polygon reached to more than 405 k users.

Conclusion:

In this dashboard we found the Number of daily transaction and Number of unique users on polygon since 1 July 2022 and also found the data before this specific date to estimate better if polygon is still growing or reached a plateau, and because of the lack of data that we did not have data before 6 June 2022, we maybe can’t guess so exact, but with that available data I estimate that almost polygon has reached to a plateau for now.
