    Summary

    • In this dashboard, we are going to take a look at some of Flow’s general metrics such as variation and distribution of transactions number and volume as well as the number of users and Flow’s price then we will investigate the status of Flow holders in order to find the top holders and their metrics.
    • Flow’s price shows a significantly decreasing trend since Jul 2021.
    • Flow’s price trend between Jan to Jul 2021 is rather bell-like and the max price for Flow is recorded on 15 Apr 2021 as 37.6 USD.
    • The Flow’s price trend between May and Nov 2022 is rather decreasing from 4.7 to about 1.1 USD (about 23% decrease).
    • Daily variation of the number of transactions and users, whether deposit or withdrawal is significantly increasing since Jan 2021, especially from Oct 2021 to Nov 2022.
    • The distribution of the number of transactions for deposit and withdrawal actions is 50/50% (224.35K each).
    • The distribution of the number of transactions for deposit actions constitutes the bigger share (58.1%, 19.63M) compared to withdrawal actions (41.9%, 14.13M).
    • Daily variation of the volume of transactions, whether deposit or withdrawal is rather constant since Jan 2021, with some spikes before Nov 2021 (for example on Dec, or Jan 2021)
    • The distribution of the volume of transactions for deposit and withdrawal actions is rather similar (withdrawal: 13.24B, 50.4%, deposit: 13.01B, 49.6%).
    • The total number of the current Flow holders, Flow holders’ balances, and average held Flow tokens by holders are about 5.8M, 885.2M (Flow), and 153.6 (Flow), respectively..
    • The Monthly variation of the number of new Flow holders shows a rather fluctuating trend since Jan 2022 with one spike on Jun (2.8M).
    • The monthly variation of the total volume of the held Flow tokens shows an increasing fluctuating trend since Jan 2022.
    • The monthly variation of the average volume of the held Flow tokens by holder shows a rather fluctuating trend since Jan 2022. The max amount for the average volume of the held Flow tokens is recorded on Jan (22.8K), Aug (37.6K), and Oct (39.8K).
    • The distribution of the Flow holders according to their balances range shows that most of the Flow holders have less than 10 Flow (5.76M).
    • The top 5 most popular Flow holders are as follows:
      • 0x8624b52f9ddcd04a: 627.95M
      • 0x8f77d48caf93fd93: 91.58M
      • 0x57629229aca26459: 28.82M
      • 0x89c1608db1c451ee: 16.61M
      • 0xf674f24ffcaee4b5: 15.39M
    • The user 0x8624b52f9ddcd04a which is unknown has the upper hand among all the holders by far (76.4%).
    • Other above-mentioned holders constitute 18% of the total share.
    • These addresses are mostly unknown, however, Coinlist (0x21dc51d454d46f49 and 0x5dc3fc329730c066), Kraken (0x6a7457b796dee457) and OKX (0xb3fd4cb859ee6fef) exchanges are among the top holders.
    • uniswap is the most popular wrapped Flow holder in ETH by far. After that, TeleportCustody, sushiswap, andWalletSimple ave the upper hands. It is worth mentioning that some of the top holders’ addresses cannot be identified.
    • To draw a conclusion, it can be said that only 128 holders have more than 100K Flow which in turn shows the whales plays a key role in this respect. Moreover, among the most popular holders’ addresses, Coinlist, Kraken, and and OKX exchanges are identified. Also, it has been revealed thatuniswap, TeleportCustody, sushiswap, and WalletSimple are the most popular wrapped Flow holders in ETH. On the other hand, although a significant decrease in the Flow price (about 23%) has been observed, all the transactions and users as well as the holders’ trends show a growing situation for Flow that in turn can attract the attention of the other fishes and especially whales to hold Flow in the future.
    • The top 5 most popular wrapped Flow holders in Ethereum are as follows:
      • uniswap: 7.35M
      • TeleportCustody: 2.13M
      • 0x737305d7a8d9749b0507018caba80e25af425a14: 1.46M
      • sushiswap: 820K

    Introduction

Flow is a blockchain network designed to enable transactions that are fast and cheap. The flow blockchain is a competitor to ethereum, another blockchain platform that supports a native currency plus an ecosystem of blockchain-based projects. The flow blockchain was developed by Dapper Labs. Dapper Labs is also the team behind CryptoKitties, a blockchain-based game to buy, sell, create, and trade digital cats. The flow blockchain was launched in conjunction with Dapper Labs’ NBA Top Shot, a blockchain-based digital collectibles marketplace that specializes in basketball cards. According to Dapper Labs, as of May 2022, the flow blockchain has processed more than 20 million NBA Top Shot transactions worth over $1 billion. Flow was first built as a tool for Dapper Labs’ game developers to meet their own needs, and later launched publicly to support other decentralized applications. The coin supply is not capped, although the inflation rate of FLOW—the annual rate at which new tokens are generated as rewards leading to an increase in supply—is currently limited to 3.75%. The flow blockchain was designed to support games and consumer applications, and can potentially process the transactions of millions of active users. Games, collectibles, and related apps can be supported by the flow blockchain. By supporting interaction among smart contracts, the flow blockchain is positioned to allow for a large number of applications on its platform, much like the ethereum blockchain. Flow also claims it is more efficient than other blockchains because the job typically done by each miner—computers that work to verify transactions and maintain the blockchain’s records—is divided across five nodes. Such segmentation, according to Flow, reduces redundancy in the work done by each node and results in faster throughput. []

    Methodology

The data in this dashboard is obtained from the following tables:

    • flow.core.fact_prices
    • flow.core.fact_events
    • flow.core.fact_transactions
    • ethereum.core.ez_current_balances
    • ethereum.core.dim_labels
    • ethereum.core.ez_balance_deltas

    Aim of this analysis:

In the first part of our analysis in this dashboard, we are going to take a look at some of Flow’s general metrics such as variation and distribution of transactions number and volume as well as the number of users and Flow’s price before investigating Flow holders. Then we will investigate the status of Flow holders in order to find the top holders and find out any trends or outliers in the collection of whales which is the main purpose of this dashboard. The reason that we are going to investigate Flow’s general metrics before investigating Flow holders is to draw a conclusion on any relation between the growth of the Flow network and the holder’s interest in Flow in the future.

The following charts show Flow’s general metrics such as variation and distribution of transactions number and volume as well as the number of users and Flow’s price.
