Introduction

Polygon is a platform design to support infrastructure development and help Ethereum scale. Its core component is a modular, flexible framework (Polygon SDK) that allows developers to build and connect Layer-2 infrastructures like Plasma, Optimistic Rollups, zkRollups, and Validium and standalone sidechains like the project's flagship product, Matic POS (Proof-of-Stake). Polygon rebranded from Matic Network in February 2021 and pivoted towards supporting multiple Layer-2 infrastructure. It will continue to support the Matic POS sidechain and Plasma-based payment system, which currently hosts over 90 applications.
Currently, Polygon has 2 solutions for Ethereum users to bridge their assets to Polygon which are POS bridge and Plasma bridge.
Why would user bridge their assets from Ethereum to Polygon? Because transaction fee on Polygon is much cheaper than on Ethereum.

This dashboard focuses on bridge transactions through Polygon’s POS bridge and Plasma bridge, which are all transactions from '0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000' to '0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000' and event_name is either Deposit or Transfer.
Polygon’s data is only available since June 6, 2022.

Since June 6, 2022 until July 30, 2022, 53.7K bridgers have bridged 663 tokens from Ethereum to Polygon using both POS and Plasma bridge.

No.1 destination is Hop protocol canonical bridge with 29.9% of total first transactions to 10 most popular destinations.

More than 53K wallets have bridged more than 660 tokens from Ethereum to Polygon through Polygon’s POS bridge and Plasma bridge. However, the both number of wallet and bridge transaction volume have been decreasing since mid July 2022.
