What is the Astro Lockdrop

Generally the Astro Lockdrop is spreaded over three phases. Here is a quick explanation of those three Phases:

Phase 0: This is just a classic airdrop of 25 million ASTRO tokens to TeFi users in the Terra ecosystem, based on a snapshot.

Phase 1: This phase starts on 2021-12-14. You have seven days from this date to create a new LP position on Terraswap or use an existing one to Lock this position on/to Astroport. Ten defined pools will be eligible. Depending on the duration (2 to 52 weeks) of the lock you'll get you ASTRO rewards. For Phase 1 there were 75 Million ASTRO allocated for rewards.

Phase 2: Phase 2 starts a week after Phase 1, at December 21st. In Phase 2 you can user your airdrop rewards or rewards from Phase 1 to add liquidity to their ASTRO-UST Bootstrapping Pool with of course ASTRO, UST or ASTRO and UST. Your liquidity is also locked for a time defined by you.In Phase 2 another 10 Million ASTRO tokens could be earned as rewards for liquidity providing depending on lock time. This Phase is also a price discovery for the ASTRO token.

What is Astroport?

Astroport is a new app/protocol in the Terra ecosystem, it is a governed by holders of ASTRO governance tokens. Basically it is a dex (decentraliced exchange) where you can buy and sell tokens or add liquidity to pools to earn yield.

What we see in the graphs above is a big selling pressure starting at 28th of December. This was the first trading day, on this day people were able to sell their ASTRO claimed from the airdrop or rewards from after phase 1 the first time and they did. After this huge dipp on the first day, the price discovery starts, but was stopped by the whole crypto market going down. I can be said, that a lot of people sold their ASTRO and did not take their chance to use ASTRO to provide liquidity to Astroport. On the other side we see, when we look at the ASTRO-UST pool at Astroport, that a lot of people also provided liquidity to Astroport. Only in ASTRO-UST there a currently 95 Million USD of liquidity!

ASTRO Airdrop

I could find two airdrop addresses (terra1dpe2aqykm2vnakcz4vgpha0agxnlkjvgfahhk7 and terra1hk7fturdl9fnvrn566dxer6ds7v4jklp2wqmp7) from Astroport, as seen above. When I sum it up, around 16.792 Million ASTRO tokens were claimed from the airdrop by 21.312 wallets. That means, around 8.2 Million ASTRO tokens are nor claimed (yet).

Claiming after Phase 1

In total 37.6 Million ASTRO tokens have been claimed to date. When we look at the chart, we cans see that people claimed the most in the first few days, from the date they could.
