Identify the Ethereum arb bots and show their activity over time. How many are there? What is their average swap frequency and volume? Which tokens are they swapping? Are they interacting with synths or non-synths? How much profit are they making?
Introduction
One of the core actors in the THORChain ecosystem are the “Traders” (). These traders swap at a high frequency to make a profit and are a key cog to helping balance prices on THORChain.
In this dashboard we will identify the Ethereum arb bots and show their activity over time, swap pairs they are using, swap from tokens and swap to tokens, interacting with synths and non-synths and profit made by Ethereum arb bots.
Method
First of all we need to specify bots from other addresses. To do this I have used flipside_prod_db.thorchain.swaps table and addresses that have 50 or more than 50 swap transaction per day. Next I have used these bot’s addresses to analyze their activity and volume of transactions they have made.
The following left chart shows volume of swaps that Ethereum arb bots have made per day in USD from April 2021.
We can see swap volume has decreased in May, June and July 2022.
The following right chart shows number of swaps that Ethereum arb bots have made per day from April 2021.
We can see highest number of transactions was on June 2021.
On the following chart we can see BNB.BUSD and ETH.ETH pairs are the most interacted swap pairs by Ethereum arb bots.
The following chart shows number of Ethereum arb bots swaps based on swap pairs they have used.

Based on these charts we can say swaps to non-synths are much higher than swaps to synths in term of number of swaps and swap volume.
The following chart shows profit gained by Ethereum arb bots. We can see some of these bots lost their money and have negative balance.
