Flow vs Other L1s

Q13. How does Flow compare to other L1s in terms of user retention? Is a user who made a transaction previously likely to make another transaction a week or a month later? Compare and contrast this type of activity vs other L1s like Solana and Ethereum

    Introduction

In this dashboard we will look at user retention on Flow and compare it to Ethereum and Solana as following:

    • Average retention time on Flow, Ethereum and Solana
    • Compare user retention on Flow, Ethereum and Solana by number of users
    • Flow user retention based on time duration
    • Ethereum user retention based on time duration
    • Solana user retention based on time duration

We will be using fact_transactions table on each blockchain and we will consider users who had at least 2 transaction with an interval of at least one day.

It is obvious that Ethereum has the most average duration.

In the following chart users grouped based on 3 type:

    • One week retention
    • One month retention
    • More than one month retention

We can see only in Flow the number of users who retained in one month was higher than users who retained in more than one month.

    Method

The following chart shows average time between first and last transaction in days on these blockchains:

46.6% of users on Flow had one month retention.

76.3% of users on Ethereum had more than one month retention.

58% of users on Solana had more than one month retention.
