Earlier this year, Optimism offered an airdrop to users. Let’s examine the airdrop after a few months. How many users claimed optimism airdrop? How much of total airdrop was claimed? How many wallets are still holding tokens from airdrop? How much of users delegated their OPs? Feel free to provide any information that you think is related to token price.

Introduction

What Is Optimism?

**Optimism **is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. It helps reduce the transaction fee and transaction time on the Ethereum blockchain. Broadly speaking, Optimism helps solve Ethereum’s scalability dilemma. Scalability refers to the rate of transactions per second (TPS) on a blockchain network. OP is the native token of Optimism and the initial token supply is 4,294,967,296 OP tokens, at an inflation rate of 2% a year.

Ecosystem Fund (25%): The Ecosystem Fund is a proactive program meant to stimulate development in the Collective ecosystem by providing funding to projects and communities.

Retroactive Public Goods Funding (RetroPGF) (20%): RetroPGF is the Optimism Collective’s primary mechanism to adequately and reliably reward public goods for the impact they provide.

Optimism Airdrop #1

The Optimism Foundation’s Airdrop #1 rewards those who have been instrumental as early adopters and active users of projects in the Optimism ecosystem. To celebrate our Ethereum roots, The Optimism Foundation also want to welcome active L1 participants who can help scale Ethereum’s innovations, culture, and values to Layer 2. In total, 248,699 addresses are eligible to claim OP in this initial airdrop.
