Unique Users
How many unique wallets are active on Osmosis per day? How has this changed over time? What has been the largest event that has brought the most wallet activity to Osmosis?
Osmosis (OSMO) is an automated market-making protocol (AMM) that specializes in the InterchainDeFi movement and is built on its own blockchain, utilizing the Cosmos SDK and IBC technologies. Osmosis is an advanced protocol focused on customizable AMMs, where users can create, construct, design and deploy individual and highly-customized AMMs with various modules and the on-chain governance system.
In this dashboard we will lookin at unique wallets that are active on Osmosis as following:
- Unique wallets that are active on Osmosis per day
- average of unique users per month
- cumulative unique users
- Unique wallets activity
In this analysis we will use osmosis.fact_transactions table and we consider a succeeded transaction as minimum activity.
As you see in the above chart number of unique wallets was increasing from June 2021 until end of March 2022 then it decreased until now. The most number of active unique wallets was in Apr 23, 2022 by about 60K.
As you see the most average number of unique wallets was in March 2022.
- 10 to 100 transaction
- 100 to 1000 transaction
- 1000 to 10,000 transaction
- 10,000 to 1,000,000 transaction
- more than 1,000,000 transaction
As you see about 80% of these wallets have between 10 and 100 transaction.
Usually listing a token in centralized exchange makes an increase in users number on blockchain of that token.
- In Dec, 22 OSMO listed in Coinex exchange
- In Jan 12 OSMO listed in Mexc exchange
- In Oct, 22 OSMO listed in Hotbit exchange
Another reason for the bullish turn in OSMO is the increased attention Cosmos has directed toward EVM compatibility and cross-chain bridges. Evmos is a current project in development that is working on becoming the first IBC-compatible EVM-based chain and it is currently supporting ERC-20 tokens on its testnet. Injective, a L1 protocol, has also revealed that is developing cross-chain bridges for Cosmos-based projects and it is currently working on support for OSMO. As cross-chain bridges come online and allow tokens from other EVM-compatible networks to bridge into the Cosmos Hub, Osmosis has the potential to see further increases in trading volume and TVL simply because it is the main DEX for the Cosmos ecosystem at this time. If this were to occur, there's also the possibility that OSMO price could appreciate further.
