RWA

Real World Assets (RWA) represent the tokenization of physical assets brought onto blockchain platforms. This concept extends to the digitization of real-world assets such as real estate, loans, and even traditional financial instruments like US Treasuries, facilitating their seamless integration into decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystems. With DeFi yields increasingly converging with those of traditional finance (TradFi), the tokenization of RWAs emerges as a significant avenue for generating yield and diversifying investment portfolios within DeFi. However, this evolution is not without its challenges, notably the risk of default faced by protocols handling undercollateralized loans backed by real-world assets, underscoring the importance of robust risk management frameworks in the DeFi space.
