Briefly about cryptopunk:

CryptoPunks is a non-fungible token (NFT) collection on the Ethereum blockchain. The project was launched in June 2017 by Larva Labs, a two-person team consisting of Canadian software developers Matt Hall and John Watkinson. This experimental project is inspired by the London punk scene, cyberpunk movement and electronic music artists Daft Punk. This project makes Cryptopunks a special project for several reasons. First: This is one of the first NFT projects on the Ethereum blockchain. Two: There will only be 10,000 cryptopunks. This causes a shortage among collectors. Some cryptopunk portraits may be more valuable than others based on their features (or lack thereof). A CryptoPunk with several rare properties can be worth a lot. For example, CryptoPunk #7804, an alien (9) with small shadows (378), a hat (254) and a smoking pipe (317), sold for more than $7.5 million. But rarity isn't the only factor in a cryptopunk's value. Some portraits are simply because a collector likes the look. The most expensive cryptopunk: CryptoPunk #5822 just sold for almost $24 million in Ethereum, which is incredible in its own right. According to Coinmarketcap data, Cryptopunks holdings currently have the largest volume of all other NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain (as well as other blockchains).

As you can see, we have reviewed the top 10 holders in the chart below.It is clear that the wallet address 0xa858ddc0445d8131dac4d1de01f834ffcba52ef1 currently has the most punks in their wallet with over 1119 NFT tokens. This wallet address is not listed among users who have made a high number of buy or sell transactions as well as high volume. Therefore, we can conclude that this user mainly wants to collect more NFTs.

As you can see in the donut below, most Crytopank users, about 62/4% of them have made a profit from selling their Crytopank NFTs, and about 37/5% of Crytopank users have lost money from selling their Crytopank NFTs.

As you can see, according to the chart below, before 2021, we see a very low volume of cryptopunk transactions, we see the highest amount of Ethereum spent on cryptopunks in the months of July, August, and especially October 2021. This time period was when the cryptopunk collection became more popular than any other time. Also, after October 2021 and especially during 2022 and with the beginning of the bear market, the sales volume of this collection has decreased a lot.

As you can see in the donut below, the largest number of users, which includes more than half of the traders, have earned more than 2 ETH or 10,000 dollars from Cryptopunks transactions, and the next rank in this chart are users who have more than 2 ETH or $10,000 lost from cryptopunk trades. And in total, the percentage of traders who have gained more than 2 Ethereums is 58.5%, more than the traders who have lost 2 Ethereums, 37.5%.

Conclusion :

Cryptopunk collections currently have the largest volume of all other NFTs on the Ethereum and other blockchains.The highest volume of sales and transactions for cryptopunks was achieved between February and October 2021, after which the volume of sales decreased with the onset of the bear market in 2022. The wallet address 0x6639c089adfba8bb9968da643c6be208a70d6daa has the most profit of about $50 million from Cryptopunk transactions. This wallet has not done many sales transactions, but it has made about $50 million in profit from sales transactions and is among the top 10 users in terms of sales volume. None of our very top sellers are listed among the most profitable users. As you can see, between February and August 2021, the most buying and selling of NFTs was done by Cryptopunk users.

As you can see in the chart below, we looked at the number of transactions and the number of tokens sold or bought. It is clear that it performed best in the months of February 2021 and August 2021.

I have used the ethereum.core.ez_nft_sales table to prepare this report. buyer is the wallet address of the user who buys the NFT and seller is the wallet address of the user who sells the NFT. Each tx_hash in this table refers to a successful Cryptopunks sell transaction ID. To analyze cryptopunks, we filtered the project_name column to cryptopunk and set the event_type column to sales. The price column shows the Ethereum value of the corresponding transaction.
