NEAR Performance

    introduction

The infrastructure of the NEAR protocol platform is very similar to the infrastructure of Ethereum. In this platform, developers write decentralized software or DApps to manage operational activities on the platform, such as creating accounts or conducting transactions with network nodes. In NEAR, we have facilities such as software development kits or SDK, blockchain browsers and wallets. It is possible for tokens of other blockchains to join the protocol. Recently, a connector called Rainbow Bridge has been developed on this platform and it connects NEAR and Ethereum platforms.

    METHODS

1-Measure transactions per minute and comparing it with other L1.

2-Measuring the average time of building a block and comparing it with other L1.

3.Checking the percentage of failed transactions and comparing it with other L1.

    Result:

The highest transaction in one minute in the near protocol is 8070 transactions, which I think is very great and stunning, and in the comparisons, the near protocol ranks second after Algorand.

The results from July 1 show that in this case the NEAR network is still in second place and even higher than Ethereum.

    Conclusion of SEASON1:

Considering the conclusion and considering the rest of layer one networks, the results show that the near protocol has very good speed and performance, and especially the number that the evaluation (most transactions per minute) shows this result to We find that this network has good stability.

Also, the results from July 1 show that this network is still alive and very powerful, and the results are the same as always.

SEASON 1 : TRANSACTIONS PER MINUTE

    > Unfortunately, the charts are only shown in a two-month period, and the above chart is not complete for that reason.

    > \

Well, due to the way the SOLANA network works, I also considered a chart without Solana.

    Result:

The NEAR protocol averages 337 transactions per minute, which is very pleasing, and the NEAR protocol is fourth among layer 1 networks regardless of the Solana network.

And since the first of 1 July, the average transaction rate per minute has been lower, but NEAR still takes the fourth place

SEASON 2 : Blockchain Block Performance

    Conclusion of SEASON 2:

These results show that NEAR protocol ranks first after Solana . On average, creating a new block in the NEAR protocol takes 1.18 seconds, which shows the high speed of the NEAR network and is very satisfactory.

    SEASON 3 : FAILED TRANSACTIONS

    Conclusion of SEASON 3:

The average percentage of failed transactions in NEAR is 13.28 , which is very bad for the near network and this protocol should pay more attention to this if it wants to be the main competitor of Ethereum.

The monthly results show that the situation in 2021 was generally better. Since the beginning of 2022, the percentage of failed transactions has increased, which is a sign of the regression of the network in this case. Also, the highest error percentage was in April 2022, when this percentage reached 24.17, and the lowest was in September 2021, with an extraordinary percentage of 2.6.

    WHY NEAR?

The current Ethereum chain and most of the first layer solutions such as Solana and Avalanche have not been able to completely solve the scalability problems due to the increase in the number of transactions and the requirement of their consensus mechanisms to confirm each transaction by all nodes. The low scalability of these networks leads to an increase in the cost of transactions; Because with the increase in the number of users, the delay in the approval of transactions increases and the fee for doing them increases. To avoid this problem, the NEAR protocol has provided the NightShade solution. Nightshade is the main technology of NEAR blockchain. In the NightShade solution, sharding is applied to all blocks individually instead of the main chain. In this method and because all the blocks are divided between the nodes of the NEAR network, the scalability of this network increases significantly. The mechanism of NightShade is that instead of sending transactions individually to each of the network nodes, they are divided among all nodes and run in parallel. Currently, NEAR has improved its sharding capability in partnership with Octopus Network. Octopus allows developers to build their own blockchains. The chains created by Octopus are known as App Chains and are connected to the NEAR network through the Octopus Bridge, which is deployed as a smart contract.
