Due to the fact that in the Algorand database in the application_call_transaction table are stored transactions that have the type of application call, so counting the number of transactions in this table is equivalent to counting application calls. In the table below, you can see how many application calls have been used in each unique block from 2022-06-01.

If you look closely at the table data, you can see that in the first six months of 2021, there was generally almost one application call per block. But as time gets closer, the number of application calls per block increases. Now to get a better understanding of how application calls in blocks change over time, we get the average number of application calls in blocks for each day. The chart below shows this average per day.

As you can see in the chart, the average application calls will start to increase from October 2021, so that in the first half of 2022 it is much more than in the second half of 2021. As you can see, in three time periods in 2022, the number of application calls has increased significantly. Once around the first week of January, another in the third week of February, and a third in the first half of May. So that on the 2nd of January 2022, an average of 30 application calls were used per block, which on this day we had the highest average number of application calls per block.

Now we want to check how many wallets have used the application call each day.

The above diagram shows the number of wallets making application calls in each day. As you can see, the number of wallets that use application calls in the first half of 2022 is more than the second half of 2021. On May 8, the highest number of wallets used the application call was 324k.

We will now examine to see how the total number of application calls in the first half of 2022 has changed compared to the second half of 2021.

As it is clear from the data, the total number of application call transactions in the first half of 2022 is more than twice the total number of application call transactions in the second half of 2021.
