Untitled Board
Flow’s DeFi landscape is nascent but growing quickly. For DeFi enthusiasts coming to Flow, what information might they need to best understand this part of Flow’s growing ecosystem? Build an analysis that tracks prices for Flow fungible tokens, looking for the following data points: ticker, volume on DEX by ticker, volume on CEX by ticker, liquidity on DEX, price, market capitalization, and fully diluted value.
This dashboard will clarify these concerns:
- What information might they need to best understand this part of Flow’s growing ecosystem?

FLOW’s introduction:
Flow is a blockchain that was designed exclusively for Web3 assets and apps such as NFTs, crypto games, and DAOs. In brief, Flow believes blockchains are the backbone of the digital economy and is offering developers.
Flow employs a proof of stake consensus process, in which validators must stake a particular number of FLOW tokens in order to participate in the network.
The way validation works, however, is unusual among blockchains, as Flow divides validation activities into four distinct types of nodes: consensus, verification, execution, and collection. Each transaction is validated by all four categories of nodes.
According to Dapper, breaking out the duties makes transaction processing more efficient than on competing blockchains. It is an alternative to sharding, or distributing a blockchain's storage and processing needs over several nodes. Dapper claims that by not using sharding, Flow makes transactions atomic, consistent, isolated, and durable (ACID) and helps developers to build on one other's work.

How to find data?
Below are the list of tables used for analysis:
flow.core.fact_prices
flow.core.ez_swaps
flow.core.ez_token_transfers
flow.core.ez_bridge_transactions
In addition, i use data from an external blockchain explorer to extract information. For more details, please check at .
This table shows the list of all available symbols from “flow.core.fact_prices”. To apply all data visualizations, please choose one Ticker as mentioned in this table and apply it into parameter column above. Kindly note that “USDT”, “USDC”, “FUSD” are not covered in this analysis.
Asset performance:
The above table shows the result of FLOW token. Please fill into the Parameter to get the result for the token you choose. The observation time for this table is 21-Nov-2022
.
As can be seen from the charts, FLOW is the token with highest USD market cap, Fully Diluted Market Cap, volume (in both CEX and DEX). There is a significant disparity in the roles of Flow and the rest. The clearest gap comes from “USD market cap”, where FLOW accounted for nearly 96%
in total.
Swap Analysis
As can be seen from these charts, regarding FLOW token, there was no big gap between 02 type of swaps in terms of: number of transactions/users and amount of transactions in token currency and USD. In addition, both type of swaps had the same trend in the weekly fluctuations.
Transfers
Bridges
As a result, one interesting note here is that “0xab970f62ff24fd15
” had the highest number of swaps and USD amount of transactions and it is also the only one wallet appearing in all list of top 5 wallets mentioned as above.
Regarding the number of transfers, receivers and senders, 2022
had a better performance than 2021
. By contrast, 2021
had a more outstanding performance about total amount in both token and USD currency than 2022
.
As can be seen from the charts, outbound had higher number of users, transactions and amount in both Flow currency and USD currency. However, worth-mentioning point here is that there was no big gap in the average number of transactions per user and average USD amount per transaction between inbound and outbound directions.
Conclusion:
- FLOW is the token with highest USD market cap, Fully Diluted Market Cap, volume (in both CEX and DEX). There is a significant disparity in the roles of Flow and the rest.
- “0xab970f62ff24fd15” had the highest number of swaps and USD amount of transactions and it is also the only one wallet appearing in all list of top 5 wallets per number of transactions/users, transaction volume in both type of swaps.
- Regarding the number of transfers, receivers and senders, 2022 had a better performance than 2021. By contrast, 2021 had a more outstanding performance about total amount in both token and USD currency.
- Regarding bridge activities, outbound had higher number of users, transactions and amount in both Flow currency and USD currency. However, worth-mentioning point here is that there was no big gap in the average number of transactions per user and average USD amount per transaction between inbound and outbound directions.
