Methodology

In this dashboard I am going to analyze Alexar token (AXL) wallets’ balances, holders and the average time of holding, buyers, sellers, transfers, pool liquidity and swaps.

For analyzing them I used the datasets which Flipside Crypto had prepared for us. These datasets are:

1. osmosis.core.fact_daily_balances : For extracting wallets balances.

2. axelar.core.fact_transfers & osmosis.core.fact_transfers : For extracting transferred token data on Axelar and Osmosis networks.

3. osmosis.core.fact_swaps : For extracting swap activities.

For analyzing transfers on Osmosis networks AXL token address is ibc/903A61A498756EA560B85A85132D3AEE21B5DEDD41213725D22ABF276EA6945E .

Let’s go through analysis.

Introduction

Axelar

Axelar provides a decentralized network and tools that help connect dApp builders with multiple blockchain ecosystems, applications, and users for frictionless cross-chain communication. Axelar consists of a protocol suite, tools, and APIs, designed to break down the barriers to cross-chain communication. Powered by a decentralized open network of validators; anyone can join the network, use it, and build on it.

The Axelar network makes cross-chain communication as simple as using HTTP/HTTPS protocols on the web. Platform developers can plug-in their blockchains to other ecosystems, and application builders can leverage a simple protocol and API to access global liquidity and communicate with the entire ecosystem. [Source]

• Axelar is secured by the AXL token via proof of stake. 
• AXL is the native utility token that powers the Axelar network, built using the Cosmos SDK.
• As an interoperability network, the AXL token is a chain-agnostic asset that has representations on multiple blockchains. Its ERC-20 representations will live on all connected chains, including Ethereum. [Source]

Osmosis

Osmosis is a DEX protocol, which means it uses smart contracts to determine the price of digital assets, to produce liquidity via a peer-to-peer (P2P) methodology, and to exact trades between users. This approach to an exchange platform is known as an AMM — a DEX protocol that prices crypto assets in liquidity pools. Contributing tokens to these pools helps foster decentralized liquidity, which is then used to facilitate trades on the exchange. Participating as a liquidity provider (LP) can earn you both trading fees and newly minted LP tokens as incentives for participation. [Source]

Observation I

Total number of holders of AXL token on Osmosis network is equal to ==2540==. Daily chart is showing that number of holders from September 27, 2022 is increasing till today and on November 29 reaches ==2465== holders.

Total amount of wallets is equal to ==175M==. Daily chart shows that total volume is increasing and on November 4, 2022 experiences a sharp increase. It reaches ==3.96M== and finally ==4.02M== ==November 14, 2022.==

Observation II

All time average volume of AXL for holders is equal to ==1366==.

Daily chart shows that average volume on September 27, 2022 is equal to ==3444== and decreases by the time exponentially and reaches to average volume of ==928== on November 1, 2022, after that increases to ==1821== on November 4, 2022.

Observation III

As single number shows, All time average holding period is equal to 13.87 days, and for the last month it is equal to 6.03 days.

Top holders by average holding period are:

Number of total transfers of AXL within Axelar is ==107.954K==, and within Osmosis is equal to 16.06K. Number of transfers for Axelar is ==6.75== times bigger than osmosis. Daily chart shows that number of transfers for Axelar always is more than Osmosis.

Maximum number of transfers within Axelar occurs Sep 29, 2022 and it is equal to ==2942==, and Maximum number of transfers within Osmosis occurs Sep 28, 2022 and it is equal to ==698==.

Observation V

Number of total senders of AXL within Axelar is ==10.356K==, and within Osmosis is equal to ==5474==. Number of senders for Axelar is ==1.89== times bigger than osmosis. Daily chart shows that number of senders for Axelar almost everyday is more than Osmosis.

Maximum number of senders within Axelar occurs Sep 29, 2022 and it is equal to ==959==, and Maximum number of senders within Osmosis occurs Sep 28, 2022 and it is equal to 523.

Observation VI

Number of total receivers of AXL within Axelar is ==16.128K==, and within Osmosis is equal to ==6044==. Number of receivers for Axelar is ==2.66== times bigger than osmosis. Daily chart shows that number of receivers for Axelar almost everyday is more than Osmosis.

Maximum number of receivers within Axelar occurs Sep 29, 2022 and it is equal to 1768, and Maximum number of receivers within Osmosis occurs Sep 28, 2022 and it is equal to ==560==.

Observation VI

Total transferred volume of AXL within Axelar is ~==1.0519B==, and within Osmosis is equal to ==15.144M==. Total transferred volume for Axelar is about 70.06 times bigger than osmosis. Daily chart shows that transferred volume for Axelar almost everyday is more than Osmosis but there are some exceptions.

Maximum transferred volume within Axelar occurs Oct 13, 2022 and it is equal to ==332.7M==, and transferred volume within Osmosis occurs Nov 4, 2022 and it is equal to ==1.41M==.

Transferred volume within Axelar two times is more than ==50M==.

Transferred volume within Osmosis three times is more than ==1M==.

Observation VII

Average transferred volume of AXL within Axelar is ==9538==, and within Osmosis is equal to ==935==.

Average transferred volume for Axelar is about ==10.2== times bigger than Osmosis.

Maximum average transferred volume within Axelar occurs Oct 13, 2022 and it is equal to ==433.227K==, and transferred volume within Osmosis occurs Nov 4, 2022 and it is equal to 5338.

Observation IX

Total number of swaps for AXL token is equal to ==31.4K== and total number of swappers is equal to ==7.84K==.

Daily chart shows us number of swaps and swappers for Others → AXL most of the days is more than AXL → Others.

Others → AXL :arrow_right: Number of swaps and swappers are decreasing over the time. Maximum number of swaps and swappers occurs on Sep 28, 2022 with ==1502== and ==802== respectively.

AXL → Others :arrow_right: Number of swaps and swappers are decreasing over the time. Maximum number of swaps and swappers occurs on Sep 29, 2022 with ==454== and ==261== respectively.

Observation X

Total swapped volume of AXL is 18.7M, and average swapped volume is ==680==.

Total daily AXL swaps volume show that it is decreasing over the time.

Most of the time AXL → Others average volume is more than Others → AXL.

On ==Sep 28, 2022== we have most of the volume for both sides of AXL swaps.

==4== times average volume for AXL → Others more than ==2000== on Sep 27 and 28, Nov 9 and 21.

Total volume of AXL → Others and Others → AXL are really close to each other.

AXL → Others: ==9.481M== with ==50.7==% of all,

Others → AXL: ==9.218M== with ==49.3==% of all.

Observation XI

The number of transactions in the pool is equal to the number of token deposits from Liquidity Providers. Number of transactions for pool_joined is ==2845== and for pool_exited is ==659==.

Daily chart shows that in the early days number of pool_joined transactions is much more than pool_exited transactions. Liquidity providers chart shows the same thing and they behave same.

Maximum number of transactions and liquidity providers occurred on September 28, 2022 and they are equal to ==234==, ==163== respectively.

Total number of liquidity providers for pool_joined and pool_exited are ==819== and ==495== respectively.

Total AXL volume for pool_joined and pool_exited are ==2.86M== and ==864.6K==. Daily chart shows that in the early days volume of pool_joined is much more than pool_exited, and they are equal to ==2.17M== and ==435K== respectively.
