Observations & Conclusion:

• Most transaction fees accumulated in a single day - 5961 ALGO on Jan 7th, 2022.
• On the same day we see 4.96M transactions. That means the average fee per transaction was 0.0012 - Only slightly higher than the 0.001 ALGO fee projected by Algorand docs.
• The wallet which spent the most on transaction fee in 2022 is ZW3ISEHZUHPO7OZGMKLKIIMKVICOUDRCERI454I3DB2BH52HGLSO67W754. This belongs to PlanetWatch. It has spent 124299 ALGOS in fees contributing to about 36% of total fees spent in 2022.
• The same wallet has also contributed to the most number of transactions on Algorand in 2022. 124299649 transactions in total were initiated by this wallet in 2022 contributing to more than half of the transactions on the blockchain!
• Total fees spent on transactions in 2022 was 410k ALGO.
• Total number of transactions recorded in 2022 so far is 280.5M.
• So the average fee per transaction turns out to be 0.00146ALGO which at current price of 30 cents per ALGO sums up to about $0.00044 per transaction. That is dirt cheap compared to other blockchain platforms!
• Other interesting insights show that, out of all the assets, PLANET token has paid most as fees to Algorand in 2022. It has spent almost 602k ALGO towards transaction fees. Transaction fee for other assets also can be seen on the last chart.
