What is X2Y2?

X2Y2 is an emerging NFT marketplace that launched in February 2022. X2Y2 rivals OpenSea (the largest NFT marketplace), featuring bulk-listing, rarity tracking, and real-time notifications. The X2Y2 token is the governance token of the X2Y2 marketplace, currently trading at $0.32 with a market cap of $42 million and a total supply of 1 billion tokens.

The team behind X2Y2 is comprised of NFT and blockchain development veterans that noticed the downsides of centralization in the NFT ecosystem. Namely, 90% of all NFT transactions are on OpenSea and every time there is a downside or censorship, the whole NFT ecosystem is affected. Their message was “NFTs are not only on OpenSea.”

X2Y2’s NFT marketplace brought new features to the forefront of NFT trading. Those features include:

Profit-sharing: X2Y2 is the first NFT profit-sharing platform. Users who stake their X2Y2 tokens on the platform will receive a % of the fees for all NFT trades proportional to their share. Other platforms such as OpenSea don’t offer profit-sharing.
Bulk listings: Users can list all their NFTs simultaneously or list selected NFTs in one transaction. This saves on gas fees from having to pay for individual NFT listing.
Bulk purchasing: Traders can purchase multiple NFTs with one transaction, paying a singular gas fee. This also saves on gas fees for frequent traders.
Push notifications: X2Y2’s system automatically emails users the second there’s a bid or a purchase of one of their NFTs. It also notifies traders if their bid is accepted.
Rarity statistics: X2Y2 features a brand new rarity tracker that can track the rarity of items and also show the last price on OpenSea. Detailed analytics are included for each NFT and its history.
Secret items: X2Y2 will be the first NFT platform to feature secret NFTs and privacy will be one of their main angles in the future.

X2Y2’s NFT marketplace is only compatible with Ethereum (ETH) mainnet NFTs. Even though the website design resembles OpenSea and other NFT platforms, the features and the back-end were developed from scratch for this platform.

The X2Y2 marketplace has similar collections to OpenSea and the largest collections are well-known collections such as “Bored Ape Yacht Club“, “Boomgala”, “Azuki”, “Crypto Chicks”, and others.

📌Methodology

In this dashboard, we use the ethereum nft tables available in the flipside ethereum database to analyze the X2Y2 Marketplace.

First, we will take a look at the NFT buying and selling situation in the Ethereum blockchain. Then we will examine the X2Y2 marketplace from different aspects.

In this section, we see NFT collections that are bought and sold on the X2Y2 Marketplace. "Bored Ape Yacht Club" collection is the most popular NFT collection on the X2Y2 marketplace. This collection have sold 486 NFTs worth over $7.1 million by 456 sellers to 453 buyers. "Bored Ape Yacht Club" Collection has attracted 11.9% of buyers and 11.6% of sellers. In the charts, we can see that "Mutant Ape Yacht Club" Collection is in the second place in terms of sales volume with the sale of 1081 NFTs worth 7 million dollars by 1022 sellers to 1011 buyers. More than 21% of the number of NFTs sold is related to "Doodles" collection. 974 sellers and 931 buyers have chosen "Doodles" Collection.

"Moonbirds" Collection have sold 950 NFTs worth over $4.7 million by 882 sellers to 864 buyers. This collection is also one of the most effective collections in attracting sellers and buyers to the X2Y2 Marketplace. "Doodles" and "ArtBlocks" collections have 24.4% and 7.96% of the number of NFTs sold in the X2Y2 market, respectively, and are in the fourth and fifth place among popular collections.

Daily Collections Status - X2Y2 NFT Marketplace

In this section, we see the number of NFTs sold from each collection on a daily basis. We see information such as the number and volume of sales of each collection and the number of buyers and sellers of each collection on a daily basis in 4 separate charts.

In the chart of daily sales numbers, it can be seen that from April to May 2022, the buying and selling of NFT is better than other months. From June to August, the sales situation decreased, but from mid-July to early August, the situation is better again. In the chart, we see the beginning of the decrease in the number of sales from the middle of May. The two reasons for this decrease in sales can be considered the two important news of the Terra crisis and the announcement of an interest rate increase by the Federal Reserve, which caused a sharp drop in the market in May and June.

The highest number of daily sales is related to "Moonbirds" collection. this collection has sold 76 NFTs on April 17, 2022. The largest volume of daily sales is related to "Art Blocks" Collection. The "Art Blocks" collection is ahead of other collections with a sales volume of 99.1 million dollars on May 7, 2022.

X2Y2 vs Others Marketplace

In this section, we compare X2Y2 Marketplace with other NFT marketplaces on the Ethereum blockchain. From the charts in this section, information such as the number and volume of sales, the number of buyers and sellers, the number of collections and NFTs of each collection and the average price of NFTs in different markets can be seen.

With the sale of 275.5k NFTs worth $270.8 million, the Looksrare platform is in first place in terms of the number of NFT purchases and sales. The X2Y2 platform is in the second place in terms of the number of purchases and sales with the sale of 698.9 thousand NFTs worth more than 34.8 million dollars. After the Opensea platform, the X2Y2 platform has the highest volume of NFT sales. In terms of the number of buyers and sellers, the X2Y2 platform is after Opensea. X2Y2 platform has 7840 collections with 28.7 thousand NFTs. Therefore, in terms of the number of collections, it is after Opensea platforms.

In this section, we see information including the number and volume of sales, the number of buyers and sellers, and the average price of each NFT based on the collections of each marketplace.
The largest number of buying and selling collections is related to the Opensea platform. Raribles, Art Blocks, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and Bored Ape Yacht Club collections are the leaders in terms of the number and volume of purchases and sales on the Opensea platform. The number of purchases and sales of Art Blocks, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and Bored Ape Yacht Club collections in X2Y2 is less than in Opensea. The number of buyers and sellers of the collections mentioned in the platforms Opensea and LooksRare are more than that of X2Y2 .

In this section, we see the price of each NFT from each collection in different marketplaces. For example, the average price of Bored Ape Yacht Club Collection NFTs is higher on the Opensea platform than on the X2Y2 platform.

Conclusion

In this dashboard, we have examined the X2Y2 market from different aspects. We compared the number and volume of sales, the number of buyers and sellers, the number of collections and NFTs, and the average price of each NFT with competing platforms. We saw that in terms of the number of purchases and sales, the biggest competitors of X2Y2 are LooksRare and Opensea platforms. In terms of sales volume, the LooksRare platform is X2Y2's biggest competitor.
