DEX Change
What is the Question?🚨
This week has highlighted the need for transparency & decentralization in crypto markets. Let's see how users have reacted to this wild week in Web3. Have behaviors changed? Analyze growth in Osmosis Volumes & User Count this week.
Has more money flowed into Osmosis this week compared to the past few weeks/months? Where is this money coming from? Centralized Exchanges? Have wallets moved more into stables?
Analyzed Topics:
- Swap Activity
- Transfers TO Osmosis
Introductionđźš©
What is OSMOSIS?
Osmosis is a DEX protocol, which means it uses smart contracts to determine the price of digital assets, to produce liquidity via a peer-to-peer (P2P) methodology, and to exact trades between users. This approach to an exchange platform is known as an AMM — a DEX protocol that prices crypto assets in liquidity pools.

What is OSMO(Token)?
The Osmosis token (OSMO) is used to vote, stake, and provide liquidity throughout its pools. Superfluid staking, a process novel to the Osmosis protocol, allows users to stake assets to secure the network while simultaneously providing assets in a liquidity pool.

Method⚡
In this dashboard i analyzed Osmosis daily swap and transfer IN activity since the beginning of November and see that is there any changes happened to the network after FTX’s collapse or not.
I mainly used ==Osmosis.core== Database provided by Flipsidecrypto and fact_transfers
& fact_swaps
tables.
I analyzed the data since the beginning of November 2022 and divided daily charts by Before and after FTX’s collapse that happened on November 7th.
Dashboard made on ==2022-11-16==
Findingsđź‘€
- Above charts are showing overall Osmosis Swap Activity and also on a daily basis since the beginning of November and divided by FTX’s Collapse that happened on November 7th.
- As we see, swap activity on Osmosis increased after November 7th due to FTX’s collapse.
- Osmosis recorded more swaps by more swappers in November after FTX’s collapse than before it.
- Daily Osmosis swap USD volume experienced a spike on November 8th and increased almost 20M dollars.
- Over 92K swappers recorded more than 400K swaps after FTX’s collapse on Osmosis and the swaps are almost more than 120K than before FTX’s collapse.
- Most of swaps and swap volume in USD recorded on Nov 8th & 9th and OSMO, ATOM and axlUSDC were accounting over 75% of swapped assets in those days and in the whole November too.
- axlUSDC is the most swapped token since the beginning of November with almost 30% of all swapped tokens followed by ATOM with almost 26% and OSMO with almost 18% of all.
- axlUSDC is in the first place of swapped tokens, then ATOM and OSMO places in the second and third places respectively.
Findingsđź‘€
- In this section i showed the trasnfers that are coming to Osmosis in Novmber or we can say November Osmosis Inflows.
- Again here we see that transferred USD volume into Osmosis recorded a huge spike after November 7th and over 16M USD volume entered Osmosis on Nov 8th & 9th.
- Bridged assets by USD volume recorded an all-time high on Nov 8th & 9th and most of them were ATOM that sent to Osmosis.
- As we see in above pie chart, ATOM is the most bridged token TO Osmosis, with almost 31M USD volume and accouting over 43% of all bridged tokens followed by USDC.axl, Axelar native stabelcoin with over 13,8M USD volume and accounting over 19% of all bridged Assets in November.
- ATOM in the first place, USDC.axl in second and EVMOS in the third are most bridged tokens TO Osmosis since the beginning of November over time.
- ==“axelar19xj4ncc6h6y5ahpfqtspdx75y3dkrxj3zpah9k”== is the biggest sender to Osmosis in terms of USD volume with over 18M$ volume that sent to Osmosis only by itself. This number is so huge and 16M$ than second sender.
- The first sender has sent over 18M USD volume to Osmosis and the rest of top 5 have sent under 3M USD volume.
