It looks like there has been some unusual activity on Gnosis recently.

In this bounty i will analyze Gnosis recent activity since the beginning of October and see what happened on this platform recently.

What we will cover in this dashboard?🌊

Overall and Daily Transactions, users and fees and and some information about xDAI and some deeper analysis that you will see.

Method⚡

In this analysis, i analyzed multiple metrics of Gnosis ==since the beginning of Ocotber== and noticed some unusual activity on

==Oct 5th== and went deep in it that you will see. At first i analyzed some overall and daily metrics such as daily transactions, users, fees and some more and then i went through Gnosis Stablecoin (==xDAI==) and analyzed some information from it. At the end i put some deeper analytics to understand the recent Gnosis activity better. I mainly used ==Gnosis.core== database provided by Flipsidecrypto and used multiple tables from it. i got helped from ==“gnosis.core.fact_transactions“== ,==“gnosis.core.fact_event_logs“== , ==“gnosis.core.fact_token_transfers”== , ==“gnosis.core.ez_xdai_transfers”== and ==“gnosis.core.dim_labels”==

tables. I used multiple charts to make the data more understandable as much as i could. Also i considered only Successfull transactions with tx_status = ‘SUCCESS‘ .

I analyzed all the stats since the beginning of October 2022. ==‘2022-10-01‘==

What is Gnosis?

Gnosis builds new market mechanisms for decentralized finance. Our three interoperable product lines allow you to securely create, trade, and hold digital assets on Ethereum.

What is xDAI?

xDAI is a cryptocurrency that is pegged to the US Dollar*, has super low transaction fees, and fast transaction times. These features make it an ideal cryptocurrency to use for every day transactions like retail stores or peer to peer transfers.

As we see in the above charts, that “unusual activity” that i talked about happened on Oct 5th and caused a huge spike on number of transactions and users. It seems in that day, almost 55K new users joined gnosis and transacted 108.4K transactions. We also see in the gas used chart that the average gas used had a massive drop on Oct 5th and looks like the gas that using for running transactions was much lower than the other days. After Oct 5th, Gnosis transactions and users got back to its normal routine and by that information it seems like it was an Ddos attack or something related to the servers. In the last bar chart at the bottom we see daily new and active users and it seems over 55K users joined to Gnosis on Oct 5th and recorded a total of 57.3K total users on that day (almost 55K more users than Oct 4th).

A total of 67,541 new users joined to Gnosis in past 16 days since the beginning of October and 55.4K of them joined on Oct 5th.

The stablecoin used on the Gnosis chain is xDAI. xDAI is pegged to DAI and DAI pegged to USD. The only difference between xDAI and DAI is that xDAI is on the Gnosis chain whereas DAI is on the Ethereum chain. On other days except Oct 5th, other tokens transferred more than xDAI but on Oct 5th, xDAI transferred 50K more than other tokens. In overall other tokens transferred more than xDAI in Gnosis on October so far. As we see it seems that 56.149K tokens from all the tokens that transferred on Oct 5th were xDAI.

In the left bar chart i analyzed hourly transactions divided by wallets that did them on Gnosis and as we see 1 address did unusual activity: ==“0x37efe9b31830653039edc3b212a6e1b882cd46b4”== between 00:07 AM until 00:10 Am (3 Hours) received almost 55K transactions and as we saw earlier, almost 55K tokens transferred on Oct 5th and most of them were xDAI, it seems that number of transactions was equal to tokens. Gnosis had the highest number of transactions on Oct 4th and most of them were Transfer, Mint and TokenBridged. From Oct 4th until Oct 8th, number of wallets that were executing transactions recorded a huge spike.

Conclusion💡

• The unsual activity in Gnosis happened on Oct 5th between 7 AM until 10 AM
• Gnosis had a huge spike on number of users and almost 55K new users suddenly joined Gnosis
• Most of the transactions that recorded on Oct 5th were Transfer and xDAI was the most transferred token on that day unlike other days of October
• ==“0x37efe9b31830653039edc3b212a6e1b882cd46b4”== was the wallet that did some unusual activity in Gnosis on Oct 5th
• A total of 67.7K users transacted over 1M transactions on Gnosis since the beginning of October
• A total of 62.1K senders, sent 250K xDAI to multiple destinations in past 16 days and 1 address that i mentioned above received almost 55K of this 250K xDAI token in just 3 hours on Oct 5th
